I Read 100 Books and All I Got Was This Lousy Shirt

I had this idea to take quotes and / or just funny ideas from the books I’ve been reading and putting them on T-Shirts. I thought that actually making the shirts might be a bit too much work, but designing them and drawing them, that could be a worthy project.

I was thinking that a quote that sums up the theme might be good, or sometimes a very funny line, or sometimes something just mildly obscure, so that it sounds familiar but it might take a moment to place where it’s from. Or sometimes an in-joke only someone who was a big fan of the book might understand.

So as I’ve been doing my nightly reading I’ve been highlighting and taking notes and trying to think what I’d put on a T-Shirt for each book I read.

I thought that making them as I go might be too much work, but doing one month’s books at a time might work best.

So after a lot of work (much more than I thought), here is the finished product for the books I read in March 2022

Can you recognize any of the books?

The books used were (clockwise starting at top right): Coraline by Neil Gaiman, Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain, Dune by Frank Herbert, No Bad Parts by Dick Schwartz, Devil House by John Darnielle, Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein.
